Industrial Relations Victoria (IRV) provides strategic industrial relations legislative, policy and technical advice to Government and departments. IRV engages with Victorian employers, employees and their representatives to support a positive industrial relations environment, and advocate for fair and productive workplaces, secure work and gender pay equity. IRV also oversees industrial relations matters and enterprise bargaining policy and processes across the Victorian public sector.
IRV consists of the Private Sector Industrial Relations branch, the Public Sector Industrial Relations branch and the Office of the Deputy Secretary.
Public Sector Industrial Relations oversees enterprise bargaining across the Victorian public sector. It is responsible for implementing the Government's public sector industrial relations policies and assisting departments and agencies with industrial relations matters and enterprise bargaining.It is also responsible for advancing the Government gender equality initiatives in the building and construction sector.
Reporting to the Technical Specialist – Building and Construction, the Senior Adviser - Building and Construction will focus on supporting the delivery of the Victorian Government's eight year Building Equitable Futures Strategy 2024-32, which seeks to create training and employment opportunities for women in the building and construction sector. It builds on the foundational work commenced under the Women in Construction Strategy which expired in 2022.
