The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Senior Aboriginal Talent Partner to provide support within the Recruitment Services Team.
This is an Aboriginal designated position, classified under 'special measures' of section 12 of the Equal Opportunity Act 2010. Only Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people are eligible to apply.
About the Business Unit
The Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS) provides a range of government programs and services which focus on improving community safety, victim services, regulatory services and crime prevention, and building strong collaboration across the justice system.
The People, Safety and Culture (PSC) group supports the department in workplace culture and people matters, including human resource policy and strategy; organisational culture and change; recruitment and retention; performance and development; pay, benefits and workforce reporting; safety and wellbeing; workplace relations; and employee conduct. The Recruitment Services and Talent Programs team provides expert advice and support to the department on all recruitment related matters across both frontline and non-frontline roles, including attraction, selection, redeployment and other recruitment and retention practices.

About the role:
Reporting to the Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end recruitment process, and work with hiring managers across the department to understand their recruitment needs. Ensuring that target hires are achieved within the talent delivery team for all prioritised, designated and roles are achieved across the department.
The Senior Aboriginal Talent Partner works closely with key stakeholders to understand their business and what is required for current and future success. The Senior Talent Partner provides expert advice and support across all talent related activities ranging from sourcing, screening, short-listing, interviewing, reference checking, offer management and outcome advice. Additionally, demonstrated capability in the design, implementation and training of best practice recruitment processes is required.
You will be required to navigate the complexities of recruiting for a diverse range of roles—each with its own challenges and impact. As the Senior Aboriginal Talent Partner, you will provide specialist advice to regional stakeholders at all levels on Aboriginal cultural issues, employment related policies and legislation that impact on the Victorian Aboriginal community and be a strong advocate for the Department of Justice and Community Safety.
With a hybrid working model, you'll combine flexibility with meaningful on-site engagement, including travel to prisons, and community, building strong relationships and gaining firsthand insight into the environments you're hiring for.
This role will require travel across regional Victoria and is based out of the Melbourne office.
