About the Opportunity
The Security Coordinator at State Library Victoria is responsible for providing operational support services to the security function at sites in Melbourne and Ballarat.
Reporting to the Security Operations Manager, this hands-on role includes job patrolling, interacting with patrons and staff, and removal of patrons from site (when required). The role also provides a high level of administrative support, including developing operating procedures and rosters, requiring the use of Outlook, Word and Excel. The Security Coordinator also contributes to the successful delivery of physical and technical security projects.
While this fully on-site position is located at State Library Victoria in the Melbourne CBD, you may find a driver license helpful as there is the need to travel to our Ballarat facilities on occasion. While there is limited evening work, the position does include rostered weekends (typically every third weekend).
About You
The ideal candidate has a significant understanding of access, control, duress and CCTV equipment and proven ability in security systems integration with IT networks. While security qualifications will be viewed favourably, we are also seeking equivalent professional experience gained in security domains such as shopping centres or similar access-controlled environments where you will have experience in engaging public patrons. Your exemplary interpersonal skills not only support your ability to provide security training and foster collaborative coordination across the site but also underpin your capacity to engage appropriately with the diverse Victorian community that visits the Library and uses our services. If you have a mixture of operational patrolling experience, can show leadership within a team and are looking for the next step in your security career, we'd welcome your application.
