About Recruitment Services
The Recruitment Services branch within People, Safety, Culture and Communications (PSCC) provides expert advice and support to the department on all recruitment related matters, including attraction, selection, redeployment and other recruitment and retention practices. Working within the department's vision for a justice and community safety system that works together to build a safer, fairer and stronger Victoria, Recruitment Services delivers consultative, progressive, innovative, fair and ethical recruitment solutions.
About the Role
The Security and Safety Officer is part of the Security and Safety Screening team and provides administrative and customer service support to hiring managers, candidates and other stakeholders on a wide range of recruitment related matters.
The Security and Safety Officer reports to the Supervisor, Security and Safety.
Some of your duties may include:
- Coordinating the processing of criminal history and other relevant pre-employment checks for current and prospective employees for frontline and non-frontline roles, including:
- fit2Work Australian Criminal History Checks (ACIC)
- coordinating the Victoria Police fingerprinting process for candidates requiring a National Police Certificate,
- conducting follow up calls with candidates to obtain additional information as required.
- Providing high quality customer service and administrative support to internal and external stakeholders on a range of recruitment and security related matters
- Responding efficiently to enquiries received via the phone, electronically, in writing or in person in a professional, courteous manner

About You
As our ideal candidate, you will be able to show a demonstrated;
- Experience in providing administrative support and customer service, ideally within a large or complex organisation, and in working with sensitive and confidential information
- Experience in the use of various computer systems (including Excel) to manage candidate background checks, and in providing advice on policies and processes
- Detail focus with the ability to undertake finely detailed work in a precise and accurate manner
- The ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment with high volume processing activity
- The ability to apply and adapt to policies and processes.
