Fixed Term, Full Time Role
• 12 Months Fixed Term
• 80 Hours Per Fortnight + Monthly ADO
• Salary Range $63K- $91K (1.0 EFT) + salary packaging + super + 5 weeks annual leave (pro-rata)
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Grade 1 Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team in Anatomical Pathology must be available to work shifts between 5am and 6pm, Monday to Friday.
This position plays a pivotal role in preparing human tissue samples for histological diagnosis, utilising a comprehensive range of histological techniques, including:
• Embedding, microtomy, and handout
• Assisting in the Cut-Up Room
• Molecular pathology
• Frozen section preparation
• Quality control procedures
• Special staining techniques
• IHC
This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-quality, and collaborative laboratory environment and must hold a relevant degree in Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent.
Victorian Department of Health has endorsed the initiative to restructure existing public pathology by bringing together laboratories into pathology networks operating under a lead health service.
Pathology services from the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, the Royal Women’s Hospital and the Royal Children’s Hospital will transition to a single pathology service. This creates an exciting opportunity to strengthen the scope, scale and reach of pathology services across the Parkville precinct to benefit all Victorians.
This role will transition to the new lead health service for pathology services once determined.
