The Science Operations Coordinator plays a key role in coordination, governance, and stakeholder engagement across the Horsham SmartFarm for projects of strategic priority for the Head of Agriculture Science & Technology (AS&T), Research Directors and Research Leaders. The position is responsible for facilitating cross-branch discussions and processes to support the coordination of activities – including field, glasshouse and site operations, as well as research infrastructure and equipment maintenance and procurement – to create operating efficiencies and improve science delivery at the Horsham SmartFarm. Acting as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, the role ensures effective communication and collaboration across the branch teams, while leading and supporting activities that elevate the profile and functionality of the Horsham SmartFarm.
You will liaise with the AS&T Leadership Team, the Horsham team, and staff within the Division and across the department. You will be responsible for coordinating the planning and delivery of external stakeholder engagements for the Horsham SmartFarm and providing support to key operational committees, ensuring that governance and decision-making processes are efficient and well-structured.
You will facilitate coordination of operations across Branch teams to deliver improved outcomes. You will be able to communicate effectively, work across the organisation at different levels, and negotiate with a range of stakeholders. You will possess strong analytical, conceptual and organisational skills, the ability to provide advice on complex issues, and the flexibility to prioritise work and respond quickly.
You will bring existing knowledge of stakeholder networks in the Victorian agricultural sector, a proven track record of excellence in coordinating activities across multiple teams, and experience in external stakeholder liaison, engagement and management. You will work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, enjoy flexible working arrangements, and undertake a wide variety of work across the Division.

This is a fixed term position available for a period of 2 Years. The work location for this position is Horsham.
