Investment Manager – Americas

The Role
The Investment Manager – Americas is responsible for facilitating and delivering international investment opportunities for Victoria from the United States, Canada and Latin America. The role supports the implementation of investment attraction strategies, works directly with international companies and contributes to securing new investment opportunities and jobs for Victoria.
Working within Invest Victoria, the successful candidate will bring strong interpersonal and commercial skills, experience engaging with American operators and organisations, and an understanding of global business environments and investment trends. The role involves collaborating with Victorian Government Trade and Investment (VGTI) offices across the Americas, supporting prospective investors, negotiating commercial outcomes and providing strategic advice to senior stakeholders and government.
Main Accountabilities
• Build and manage relationships with international companies considering investment into Victoria and coordinate investment facilitation activities.
• Support VGTI offices to develop and implement international investment attraction strategies to secure investment and jobs for Victoria.
• Contribute to international lead generation activities and proactively identify investment targets across the Americas region.
• Provide high-level advice, analysis and solutions to executives, Ministers and Cabinet relating to international investment opportunities.
• Negotiate financial incentives and support the administration of investment agreements and stakeholder partnerships.
The Team
The position of Investment Manager – Americas forms a part of the Investment and Engagement branch within the Industry, Trade and Investment group.
The Industry, Trade and Investment group works closely with businesses locally and globally to grow Victorian jobs, drive innovation and increase Victoria's international competitiveness. Invest Victoria plays a key role in attracting strategic domestic and international investment, strengthening industry connections and supporting Victoria's priority sectors.
The Americas team is responsible for attracting and supporting investors from the United States, Canada and Latin America into Victoria. The team works closely with VGTI offices in San Francisco, New York, Washington DC, Boston and Santiago, along with internal and external stakeholders, to support investment attraction and facilitation activities.
About You
You will bring experience in economic development, project management or investment attraction, with demonstrated capability working with organisations from the Americas region, preferably within economic or business environments. You will also have a strong understanding of Victoria's value proposition for international investment and how organisations make investment location decisions.
You will use your relationship management, communication and commercial negotiation skills to manage complex stakeholder environments, facilitate investment opportunities and provide high-quality advice and presentations to senior executives and government stakeholders.
