About the role
Parks Victoria has secured recovery funding to protect significant Aboriginal cultural values within the National Heritage-listed Gariwerd (Grampians National Park) following the 2024–25 bushfire event.
As the Rock Art Recovery Project Officer, you will support the delivery of a major rock art recovery program across the Gariwerd landscape. Working closely with the Rock Art Specialist, Traditional Owners and key partners, you will assist with the planning and delivery of conservation works, assessment and registration of rock art places, heritage compliance activities, and engagement with Traditional Owner groups.
You will provide technical advice on rock art management, contribute to conservation planning and monitoring programs, support project reporting and documentation, and help strengthen Parks Victoria's cultural heritage management capability.

The Aboriginal Engagement and Partnerships Division provides strategic direction and culturally informed advice to support meaningful partnerships with Traditional Owners across Victoria.
We are a collaborative and purpose-driven team committed to advancing Aboriginal self-determination, cultural heritage protection and culturally safe workplaces. Working closely with Traditional Owners and Parks Victoria staff, we help ensure Aboriginal knowledge and values are embedded in the management of Country.
