About the Role
As a Road Worker - Surfacing at Norlane Depot, you will become an integral member of our line marking and bituminous spray sealing crews undertaking a variety of road maintenance activities using a range of specialised plant and equipment and processes under general supervision and perform manual labour-intensive tasks in accordance with established safety, environmental and quality procedures.
Overtime and working away from home when needed are critical requirements of this role to deliver contracted works

Key Selection Criteria
We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused team member who takes pride in delivering work to a high standard while supporting day-to-day operations in a dynamic environment. You will execute routine work tasks in accordance with established Traffic Management Plans, safety requirements, and operational policies, ensuring activities are completed efficiently, safely, and accurately. Where plans are not clearly defined, you will confidently prioritise tasks based on urgency and impact, using approved systems to manage work and maintain accurate records.
You will demonstrate sound problem-solving skills by following relevant policies and procedures, escalating issues appropriately, and contributing practical ideas to resolve operational challenges. A commitment to continuous improvement is essential, with the ability to maintain quality outcomes even when working under time pressure.
This role requires a strong understanding of operational policies, safety procedures, and guidelines, with a willingness to build knowledge and support business activities when required. You will work collaboratively with colleagues and external teams, adapt positively to changing priorities, and demonstrate self-awareness and professionalism in all interactions. Above all, you will place personal and team safety first—because nothing ruins a good day’s work faster than cutting corners.

Reimbursement for living away and overtime are at or above award rates with SRS providing Bed and Breakfast (where available) in suitable accommodation when working more than 1 hour from the base depot.
Whilst this role is primarily based at Norlane, you may be occasionally required to work from other locations across the state of Victoria based on the operational needs
