About the Role
This is a Fixed Term Opportunity until 30th June 2027
Job Location: 1 Spring Street, Melbourne
Reporting to the Manager of Road Safety Data and Insights, the role is responsible for leading projects on development and delivery of spatial modelling and analytical solutions that support road safety programs and investment decisions. The role contributes to one of the flagship priorities in the DTP Delivery Plan 2026-2028: Road Safety – Reducing trauma as we work towards the vision of zero deaths on Victorian roads by 2050. You will translate program objectives, funding requirements, and stakeholder needs into clear business requirements and analytical scope. You are able to define unstructured problems and shape them into defensible approaches aligned with Safe System principles and real-world application. The role leads end-to-end project delivery, working with contractors and internal teams to manage scope, timelines, quality, and risk. You will ensure outputs meet program and funding requirements and are suitable for decision-making, audit, and adoption by councils and delivery partners. You are able to operate with a high level of independence and judgement, acting as the interface between Data and Insights, program teams, and external stakeholders to ensure alignment from concept through to implementation. The role also ensures delivered tools align with DTP and Road Safety Victoria standards and are embedded into business-asusual processes, supporting ongoing use, maintenance, and scalability. You may also undertake other technical activities to help achieve departmental priorities
