Research Officer
Department of the Legislative Assembly, Economy and Infrastructure Committee
We are seeking a Research Officer with excellent research, writing and analytical skills. This exciting role will focus on supporting the Committee's Inquiry into enhancing Victorian university governance and may also offer the opportunity to work across the Committee's other current inquiries.
This is a fixed-term role, due to expire on 12 June 2026.
How you will make a difference
In this varied role, you will draft briefings and reports, undertake major research and analysis, and develop recommendations for the Committee's consideration. You will play a lead role in undertaking specific research, investigation, critical review and analysis of issues relevant to the Committee's inquiry.
You will also provide administrative assistance to the Committee which may include occasional procedural advice to Members and stakeholders.
Skills that set you apart
To succeed in this role, you will be a team player and have highly-developed communication, research, writing, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
You will also have the ability to work with minimal supervision and complete tasks subject to time constraints, plus be able to deal with the challenge of working in an all-party political environment.
An understanding of the university sector in Victoria would also be of advantage.
