About Us:
Gaming and Liquor (G&L) advises the Minister for Casino, Gaming & Liquor Regulation on the development and implementation of liquor and gambling legislation and regulation, and on current and emerging gambling and liquor-related issues.
The Business Unit is responsible for delivering and further developing the Victorian Government's strategic response to liquor and gambling issues and for developing and implementing the government's policy on the various gambling licensing processes. It is the primary government point of reference for industry, community and government on liquor and gaming issues.
About the Role:
The Research Officer will assist the branch in its functions, with a focus on using the evidence base. The role will carry a particular focus on organising and communicating research findings. This will include but not be limited to the development of products such as discussion and background papers, updates, summaries and fact sheets.
Another important purpose of the role will be to work closely with various stakeholder groups to put the evidence-base to use across policy, practice and prevention. The Research Officer will support project delivery, project status reporting and contract and database management as required. This role contributes to the gambling harm related functions and activities across G&L and supports the effective and coordinated delivery of gambling harm prevention and reduction activities across government.
