Who We Are
For over 175 years, Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria has connected people with nature: originally at a heritage-listed landscape in the heart of Melbourne and, more recently, with the addition of a contemporary native garden set within a natural bushland reserve at Cranbourne. These sites are home to extraordinary landscapes, innovative public programming and world-leading plant science, horticultural expertise and conservation research.
What You'll Do
We are seeking a people-focused Relationship Account Coordinator to manage the day-to-day operations of leases, licenses, and permits across Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria's two iconic sites. In this role, your primary focus will be on cultivating positive and collaborative relationships with on-site partners, licensees, event organisers, and internal stakeholders. You will work to ensure agreements are current, compliant, and aligned with organisational goals. You'll also manage short-term commercial permits, coordinate accommodation and event bookings, and help facilitate business development initiatives that align with our values and mission. Your ability to foster trust and collaboration will be vital in managing stakeholder expectations, ensuring the smooth operation of tenancy arrangements, and promoting responsible asset use across the Gardens.
What You'll Bring
You are a relationship builder at heart, with demonstrated experience managing leases, licenses, and permits—ideally in a public or high-profile environment. You have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, enabling you to engage confidently and respectfully with a wide range of stakeholders. Your strengths include negotiating win-win outcomes, resolving issues with empathy and tact, and maintaining strong professional networks. You also bring solid organisational and project coordination skills, a working knowledge of contractual agreements, and a sound understanding of risk management principles.
All other key selection criteria can be found in the position description, located under the attachments heading on the Victorian Government Careers website.
