THE ROLE
The Regulatory Officer plays an important role in delivering the Victorian Social Services Regulator's functions under the Social Services Regulation Act 2021 (the Act) and regulatory frameworks.
As a Regulatory Officer – Intelligence, you will systematically identify, collect and analyse information to build timely, fit-for-purpose intelligence that supports the SSR's regulatory decision-making and problem-solving. You will draw on your broad knowledge of the schemes administered by the Regulator and the harms the SSR seeks to proactively address and work collaboratively with operational teams and peer regulators to share information and gather intelligence.
Working in the Intake, Triage and Intelligence team, this role may undertake a range of regulatory responsibilities, including ensuring regulated entities' compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements.
This role is expected to have expertise in understanding and applying principles of risk-based regulation to the regulatory activities for which the team is responsible. Responsibilities can include conducting risk-based assessments, investigations, and regulatory interventions, supporting the registration and monitoring of providers, management and organising of incoming notifications, data and intelligence, and ensuring service provider compliance with quality and safeguarding obligations.
