Court Services Victoria provides corporate services and facilities to support the performance of the judicial, quasi-judicial and administrative functions of Victoria's courts and tribunal, Judicial College and Judicial Commission. The Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV) is the first level of the Victorian court system and is a jurisdiction within the Court Services Victoria. It has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state. The Court determines in excess of 300,000 cases per annum at 51 locations, equating to approximately 90 percent of all cases that come before Victorian courts each year. The Court aims to be an innovative, accessible, and responsive court that provides quality services to the Victorian community.
About the role
The Registry Practice Advisor is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day implementation and delivery of operational processes and practices including ongoing development and continuous improvement initiatives, and preparation of high-level documents, correspondence, reports and briefings. To do this, you will also be required to:
• Coordinate the provision of specialist operational advice and support to registry staff across all Magistrates' Court venues in terms of best practice process and procedures across all jurisdictions (including civil, crime and specialist courts and family violence).
• Drive the identification, development and implementation of best practice procedures for registrars.
About you
You will possess:
• Demonstrated extensive knowledge of legislation, practices, policies and procedures applicable to Victorian Courts and Tribunals.
• Flexibility to s required to travel to different court locations across the State.
• Relevant qualifications and equivalent skills in in Law, Courts, or associated fields is highly desirable.
• Ability to interpret legislative reforms and report on operational impacts for the organisation.
• Ability to prepare high level correspondence, reports, briefings and advice on a range of sensitive, strategic and complex issues affecting the operation of the Magistrates' Court of Victoria.
