The Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV), part of the Court Services Victoria statutory authority, plays a vital role in delivering justice across metropolitan and regional areas. Handling over 300,000 cases annually at 51 venues, MCV accounts for around 90% of all cases heard in Victorian courts. The Court is committed to being innovative, accessible, and responsive, providing high-quality services to the Victorian community.
About the role
The Registrar, BaRC supports the operations of the Bail and Remand Court through legal, administrative, and quasi-judicial duties. This shift-based role includes evenings, weekends, and public holidays, and involves working closely with the judiciary and other justice stakeholders.
The Registrar is part of a dedicated five‑person team within the Bail and Remand Court unit, supporting court operations across day, evening, and weekend shifts. The Bail and Remand Court plays a vital role in ensuring continuous access to justice for accused persons. This position offers an excellent opportunity to build skills, work with greater autonomy, and gain experience across multiple court registries.
Key Responsibilities
This is a shift based role operating within a roster that includes evenings, weekends and public holidays with appropriate shift allowances and entitlements as compensation.
