About the role
The Swanston Centre Acute Psychiatric Inpatient Unit (SCA) is a 32-bed service providing recovery-oriented care for people aged 16 and over experiencing acute mental illness and distress. As part of Barwon Health’s broader Mental Health, Drugs and Alcohol Services (MHDAS), the unit plays a critical role in delivering tertiary-level inpatient care, supporting stabilisation, treatment and transition to community-based services.
In this role, you will provide high-quality, evidence-informed psychiatric nursing care within a multidisciplinary team, ensuring safe, coordinated and consumer-centred treatment. You will contribute to care planning, maintain a commitment to continuous professional development, and work across a 24-hour rotating roster in a dynamic inpatient environment.

We are seeking a Grade 2 Registered Psychiatric Nurse with recognised experience in psychiatric or acute mental health settings, who is committed to delivering high-quality, recovery-oriented care. You will bring strong communication skills, work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, and demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and best practice.
