An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Special Care Nursery team at West Gippsland Healthcare Group as a Registered Nurse.
Reporting to the Maternity Unit Manager, you will provide specialised nursing care to neonates within our Special Care Nursery and work closely with families and the multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal outcomes for newborns requiring additional support.
We are seeking motivated and experienced neonatal nurses who are passionate about delivering family-centred care and who enjoy working within a supportive and collaborative environment. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a growing maternity service committed to clinical excellence, innovation and continuous improvement.

The hours may be offered to one applicant or split across multiple applicants.
Our preferred candidate will have:
Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
Experience providing care within a Special Care Nursery or equivalent neonatal environment.
Postgraduate qualifications in neonatal care.
Experience in neonatal resuscitation and providing respiratory support including bubble CPAP.
Understanding of and commitment to the Baby Friendly Health Initiative (BFHI).
Strong knowledge of contemporary neonatal nursing practice.
Demonstrated sound clinical nursing skills and commitment to safe practice.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Commitment to quality improvement and evidence-based practice.
The following experience/qualifications would be considered advantageous:
Dual registration as a Registered Nurse and Midwife.
Extensive neonatal nursing experience.
Advanced neonatal resuscitation.
Experience in mentoring, preceptorship or supporting graduate nurses.
IMPORTANT: Some roles in the healthcare sector are required to be vaccinated annually for Influenza (unless a valid exemption applies). Evidence of vaccination (or exemption) will be required to be provided prior to commencement.
