About the role
South West Healthcare (SWH) provides pregnancy, intrapartum and postnatal care to over 750 high and low risk pregnancies per annum. The Maternity Unit has 4 Birthing Suites, 12 Antenatal and Postnatal rooms and 6 Special Care Nursery cots and offers a comprehensive range of services to support women and their families. We have over 700 births each year.
In the role of Registered Midwife you will plan, implement, evaluate and maintain a high standard of midwifery care to achieve desired clinical outcomes.
Simultaneously recognising the needs and acknowledging the culture, values and dignity of all patients and their families. You will empower all people and their families within a service that embraces both continuity of philosophy and consistency of advice and information.
You will provide direct patient care through a consumer centred approach and within scope of practice.
You will have the opportunity to be part of a highly skilled, professional, friendly and dedicated team who take pride in providing high quality service and great care. There is an opportunity to work across all areas of maternity allowing Midwives to use their full scope of practice. This includes Antenatal Care, Birth, Post Natal Care and Neonatal Nursery care.

What you bring
Applicants must have registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse and hold relevant post graduate qualifications in midwifery.
The successful applicant must be able to work across the scope of the midwifery practice, which includes birthing suite, antenatal, postnatal and special care nurseries.
You will have a demonstrated competency in clinical practice and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, while providing high quality nursing care.
Additionally, you will have evidence of the commitment to ongoing education and professional development will be highly regarded.
