Registered Nurse – Palliative and Supportive Care Unit

About the Role
Our dedicated, compassionate team of nurses, doctors and allied health professionals work together to provide the highest quality care to patients and their families. You will be working in a supportive, educative environment where the focus of care is the patient and their family — caring for those with life-limiting illness across symptom management, discharge planning and end of life care.
Key Accountabilities
- Take reasonable care for your safety and the safety and wellbeing of those around you.
- Operate within your scope of practice, seeking support and guidance where required.
- Partner with patients, families and carers, recognising their central role in care.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues across all RMH teams.
- Speak up for safety, our values and the wellbeing of patients, families and staff.
- Seek feedback on your practice and actively participate in annual performance discussions.
- Continue to develop your knowledge through mandatory training and other learning activities.
- Prioritise safe work practices and contribute to a psychologically safe environment where everyone feels supported to speak up.
About you
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
- Demonstrated ability to practice collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Developed assessment, clinical reasoning, problem-solving and prioritisation skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a high level of professional conduct
- High motivation and willingness to learn in a specialist clinical environment
- Commitment to The Melbourne Way – people first, leading with kindness, excellence together
Desirable
- Recent experience in a Palliative Care setting
