The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Part-Time Regional Relief and Recovery Manager to provide a critical role within the Loddon Mallee region.

DJCS Emergency Management includes the department's emergency management accountabilities delivered through Emergency Management Victoria, Emergency Recovery Victoria, Sector Performance and Reform and emergency management statutory entities and offices. The work of the group supports the emergency management sector to work together and to strengthen the capacity of individuals, communities, government, agencies and business to achieve our shared vision of safer and more resilient communities and to rebuild and recover after an emergency.
Emergency Recovery Victoria
Emergency Recovery Victoria (ERV) is responsible for state and regional coordination for all emergencies to help communities build back better and emerge stronger. ERV is a business unit within the Department of Justice and Community Safety. Working directly with impacted communities, all levels of government, agencies and industry, ERV coordinates real, effective and timely support that communities need during an emergency and to recover after an emergency. As well as providing strategic leadership on whole-of-government relief and recovery activities and delivering state recovery outcomes, ERV supports locally led relief and recovery efforts to support councils and ensure that the community receives timely relief support and is at the centre of recovery.

About the Role
The Regional Relief and Recovery Manager is responsible for a team of Regional Relief and Recovery staff who lead divisional and regional planning for relief and recovery preparedness and to coordinate ERV's relief and recovery response to emergency events.
This includes representing ERV at regional and municipal planning meetings, leading emergency relief and recovery planning and operations (as directed by the Director, Regional Relief and Recovery) and maintaining business continuity, readiness, training, and occupational health, safety and wellbeing for the regional teams. During and after an emergency, you will coordinate relief and recovery. As such you may be required to work outside of normal business hours and on operational rosters and standby arrangements. Teams you lead may grow significantly during relief and recovery activities and you will have the ability to adapt, delegate and escalate as required.
