THE ROLE
The Recovery Reporting Officer is responsible for providing administrative and secretariat support to the Emergency Recovery Support Program. This role requires advanced planning, organising, problem solving and computer skills, with experience in program and service reporting.
Reporting to the Manager, Emergency Recovery Support Program, this position is part of a dynamic team of staff supporting communities with their recovery, in collaboration with the department's Operational Divisions. The role will play a key role in reporting on the delivery of the Victorian Emergency Recovery Support Program.
The role will work alongside the Community Engagement Recovery Officers to deliver and report on a range of recovery projects and programs including; housing and accommodation options and a range of psychosocial initiatives to support fire-affected Victorians to recover and start rebuilding their lives, including specific programs aimed at helping community to come to terms with their traumatic experiences during the fires and re-connect with their communities.
This role operates within a highly dynamic and rapidly changing environment and requires the capacity to balance current service delivery needs with forward planning. It requires an advanced understanding of the nuances of social recovery within communities affected by major emergencies.
This role will also contribute to the 24-hour, 7-day-a-week preparedness and operations of state-wide emergency response activities in line with departmental guidelines, including undertaking the role of State Duty Officer on a rostered and on call basis.
