Box Hill High School is a high-performing co-educational government school in the Inner East area of Melbourne.

An education support class position at this range will perform tasks that are carried out in accordance with guidelines, accepted practice, and school policy under supervision and direction. This may include coordination of other education support class staff within the work area or educational program.
An education support class position supports the educational services being provided to students but must not include duties of a teacher as defined in clause 2.6.1 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic) or its successor. Supervision of students can be required individually or in groups up to 4 in controlled circumstances and where the responsibility for students remains clearly with a teacher.
Certification and/or qualifications of up to three years can be required at this level (noting that Registered Nurse is not included at this level, the first level for which is Level 1 range 3).
A role at this range may include:
An education support class position at this range commencing at the base will initially be limited to undertaking routine tasks that are carried out under close supervision and direction. Work that carries some degree of independence will generally involve a limited number of tasks performed on a regular basis where priorities are clear, procedures are well established, and direction is readily available. Subject to any specific qualification and/or training requirement, an education support class employee employed in this range may be progressively required to undertake coordination, specialised student/teacher support tasks, or technical tasks as experience in the role is gained.
This role is for Thursdays and Fridays, with negotiation
¿ Provide routine clerical and administrative support, including handling general telephone inquiries, front office tasks, and mail deliveries. Greet walk-in customers and visitors.
¿ In consultation with the line manager, determine and manage work priorities within the school office.
¿ Develop and implement strategies to ensure effective administration procedures.
¿ Maintain the school's records system, including computerized records for students, staff, and the school.
¿ Coordinate the implementation of School photos
¿ Support the School Nurse and assists in delivering first aid to students
¿ Provide Administrative support to the Sport coordinator
¿ Liaise with sports coordinator to book and confirm buses, create events and complete purchase orders.
¿ Follow up with students and families to pay and consent for events
¿ Complete SAL (Student Activities Locator) for all events
¿ After event obtain match report and team photo from teachers
¿ Provide Administrative support to the Music department for events and music lessons.
¿ Develop and maintain an instrumental database for all instrument music students.
¿ Create and maintain all events: concerts, camps, excursions
¿ Liaise with IM coordinator and complete administration tasks as required
¿ Follow professional obligations, including child safe standards and Mandatory Reporting legislation.
¿ Perform any other duties as assigned by the Principal or Business Manager
¿ Assist with various administrative tasks as required.
Essential Skills
¿ Excellent communication skills and experience working in an environment with a wide variety of people in a personable, professional and confidential manner.
¿ Hold a current Victorian WWCC (Employee)
¿ An ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team and to support a holistic partnership with all staff, parents and the broader community.

Annual Leave
20 days Annual Leave plus 30 additional days Paid Leave (for ES only)
A full-time teaching service employee (principal, teacher, education support and paraprofessional class), is entitled to 152 hours (20 days) annual leave in respect of each 12 months of service which accrues progressively during a year of service, according to the employee's ordinary hours of work. Part-time employees receive annual leave entitlements on a pro rata basis, calculated according to the time fraction worked.
Education support class employees are expected to use additional paid leave during school vacation periods.
