The Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) is searching for exceptional individuals to join our team as Seasonal FFOO - Rappels. Get ready to showcase your expertise in fire management activities across Victoria's stunning National Parks, State Forests and Protected Public Land. But that's not all – our Rappel Crew members perform extraordinary, specialised roles in remote locations, adding an exhilarating twist to their work.
Imagine rappelling down ropes from a hovering helicopter, descending through towering tree canopies, from heights of up to 100 metres. As part of our Forest Fire Management crews, you'll embark on daring missions that require a unique skill set and unwavering dedication. Participate in bushfire preparedness, suppression and planned burning operations, shaping the future of our precious landscapes.
As a Rappel Crew member, you'll spend most of your time outdoors, engaging in road and culvert maintenance, tree felling and clearing, brush cutting, raking, slashing, fuel monitoring and evaluation. It's a hands-on role that demands physical fitness, team spirit, sound decision-making abilities and a strong sense of community.

These fixed-term positions are available for a minimum of 26 weeks, typically spanning November to April. Join our Ovens or Heyfield locations and unlock the potential for personal and professional growth.
In return for your dedication, you'll receive a competitive salary ranging from $57,822 to $65,221 per annum, plus superannuation.
