About the role and your responsibilities:
As the Point Nepean National Park - Ranger Team Leader (Operations) you will play a pivotal role in leading and supporting a team of Rangers in providing exceptional experiences for visitors to Victoria's parks and reserves. You are responsible for leading and delivering on-ground management of Parks Victoria's estate and assets, consistent with organisational priorities, policies and procedures, ensuring that people can engage with and enjoy the outdoors while protecting the values that make our parks and reserves so special.
You will lead, motivate and inspire the team with the strategic delivery of a variety of projects and services including (but not limited to): working with Traditional Owners in joint management and other partnership arrangements; conservation programs delivery (such as pest plants and animals, threatened species); visitor infrastructure and asset construction and maintenance (such as roads, walking tracks, day visitor areas and campgrounds); significant historic features and assets (Quarantine Station & War era fortifications) compliance and enforcement activities; delivery of education programs; and engagement with the community, and volunteers. The position is based at Point Nepean National Park reporting to the Area Chief Ranger, and will also collaborate and integrate with the Point Nepean Commercial Team Leader and their staff to ensure a whole of national park protection and experience is provided to all visitors.
Ranger Team Leaders are also encouraged to undertake specific training to participate in Victoria's fire and emergency response arrangements as part of Forest Fire Management Victoria.
