About the role
Parks Victoria is looking for a Ranger Team Leader to lead a team on French Island to deliver high quality park services, engage with internal and external stakeholders, and support the delivery of exciting natural resource management projects. The position is responsible for operational people management which includes leading, managing and developing the team including employees, contractors, and volunteers. You'll be responsible for developing and delivering team plans and works programs pertaining to operational services.
Daily travel to French Island, an island in Western Port Bay Victoria is required as part of this role. Travel includes catching a ferry to and from work each day from either Stony Point or Cowes. Longer (approx. 9 hour) days are required as part of this role to accommodate ferry timetable.

The French Island team is a small team of four, with a positive can do culture and one of resourcefulness, collaboration and support for one another.
We're looking for someone with:
• Demonstrated experience in leadership, performance management and managing a team day to day.
• Demonstrated flexibility in workload management.
• Demonstrated experience in implementing, managing, and reporting on environmental projects.
• Track record in dealing with external stakeholders on a range of land management issues.
• Tertiary qualification in Science or equivalent is highly desirable.
