About the role
A Ranger Team Leader will lead a team of staff to deliver high quality services in line with the Regional Operations Plan, with support and under the direction of the Area Chief Ranger. The position will work as a key member of the Functional team in delivering on-ground services. The position will monitor work practices and with support from the Area Chief Ranger and ensure compliance with relevant specifications such as Parks Victoria's policies and procedures. They will demonstrate a strong personal work ethic for team members to follow and ensure that District employees maintain a high standard of personal accountability and compliance with the Code of Conduct. Ranger Team Leaders are responsible for guiding the team, to inspire enthusiasm, to ensure their safety and welfare and to ensure they are appreciated for their efforts. The position is responsible for ‘hands on' people management which includes leading, managing and developing the team which may include ongoing employees, contractors, casuals, temporary staff and/or volunteers. The Ranger Team Leader will be responsible for developing and delivering team plans and works programs pertaining to operational services.
