About the role
We are looking for a Ranger to assist the North Port Phillip Maritime Ranger team, based at Williamstown. The position will be for 3 months to fill a parental leave vacancy.
As a Ranger, you will be responsible for contributing to the management of the local Port of Port Phillip, including 10 high visitation piers and jetties, navigation aids, terrestrial parks as well as stakeholder engagement, delivery of junior ranger programs and opportunity to assist the marine team with Marine Protected Area surveys.
This role is diverse, no two days are the same and will often involve manual outdoor field duties such as asset repairs to be carried out on a daily, weekly or regular basis in all conditions, as well as on-water vessel patrols. Candidates should have a reasonable level of fitness and health and without significant medical issues that will prevent undertaking the inherent tasks of a field based Ranger.
