About the role
Our Rangers are key to Parks Victoria providing exceptional experiences for visitors to Victoria's parks and reserves. As a Ranger, you are responsible for the on-ground management of Parks Victoria's estate, consistent with organisational priorities, policies and procedures, ensuring that people can enjoy the outdoors and protecting the things that make our parks and reserves so special. You will work as part of a team in delivering a variety of projects and services including (but not limited to): working with Traditional Owners in joint management and other partnership arrangements; conservation program delivery (such as pest plants and animals, threatened species); visitor infrastructure and asset construction and maintenance (such as roads, walking tracks, day visitor areas and campgrounds); compliance and enforcement activities; the delivery of education programs; and engagement with the community, licensed tour operators and other commercial operations, and volunteers.
Rangers are also encouraged to participate in Victoria's fire and emergency management arrangements as part of Forest Fire Management Victoria.
About the Team
The Operations and Delivery Division leads Parks Victoria's on-ground park management operations, including joint management partnerships with Traditional Owners, construction and maintenance of visitor infrastructure and assets, community engagement and education activities, compliance and enforcement operations, conservation programs and commercial facility management. The Division brings together end-to-end accountability for the on-ground management of Victoria's parks and reserves, including designated local ports and waterways, directed by the guardrails and guidance set by organisational centres of expertise and supported by corporate enabling functions.
