About the role
As the Ranger, your role will be part of the Surf Coast Operations team delivering on-ground services. You will demonstrate a strong personal work ethic and maintain a high standard of personal accountability and compliance with the Code of Conduct. As a Ranger, you are responsible for contributing to the team, inspiring enthusiasm and ensuring safety and welfare is maintained. This position will be responsible for assisting development and delivery of plans and works programs pertaining to operational services.
Our Rangers are key to Parks Victoria providing exceptional experiences for visitors to Victoria's parks and reserves. This part-time Ranger role has been created to assist Otways-based ranger teams with the delivery of Protecting Biodiversity funded landscape-scale conservation programs. The Otways Biodiversity Protection project focuses on invasive animal (feral pigs, red foxes and feral cats) and invasive plant management in and around high-value biodiversity asset areas. The successful candidate will be integrated into local ranger teams and will therefore also have the opportunity to carry out other ranger duties.
