About the role
Our Rangers are key to Parks Victoria providing exceptional experiences for visitors to Victoria's parks and reserves. As a Ranger, you are responsible for the on-ground management of Parks Victoria's estate, consistent with organisational priorities, policies and procedures, ensuring that people can enjoy the outdoors and protecting the things that make our parks and reserves so special. This role places a strong emphasis on practical, trade-like skills, particularly in basic carpentry, plumbing, and landscaping. You will play a key role in the auditing, maintenance, and repair of visitor assets, with a particular focus on elevated and structural infrastructure such as boardwalks, platforms, jetties, handrails, and playgrounds to ensure they remain safe, compliant, and fit for purpose.

Parks Victoria is responsible for managing a diverse estate of more than 4 million hectares including 3,000 land and marine parks and reserves making up 18 per cent of Victoria's landmass, 75 per cent of Victoria's wetlands and 70 per cent of Victoria's coastline. Victoria's parks are home to more than 4,300 native plants and around 1,000 native animal species.
