About the role:
This role sits within the Quality and Business Improvement Group within the Office of the Chief Forensic Scientist at Forensic Services. The position contributes to the delivery and ongoing improvement of the department's quality management system, ensuring that forensic services are consistent, reliable, and meet required standards. The role combines technical capability with quality oversight, supporting both casework and broader quality initiatives across the organisation.
The position operates within a central quality function that oversees key programs such as internal audits, accreditation, issue management, staff competency, and document control. It supports the delivery of forensic services that are accurate, impartial, and timely, while contributing to continuous improvement across all business areas.
The role reports through the Quality and Business Improvement Group Manager and works closely with forensic practitioners, managers, and specialist leads across the department. It also engages with external stakeholders where required, including accreditation bodies and service providers involved in maintaining quality systems.
