About the role:
Victoria's Sex Offenders Registration scheme was established on 1 October 2004 by the Sex Offenders Registration Act 2004 (SORA). The SORA established the Register of Sex Offenders (Register), which is administered by the Chief Commissioner of Police's (CCP) delegate. The purpose of the SORA is for Registered Sex Offenders (RSOs) to keep police informed of their whereabouts and other personal details for a period of time and prevent them from engaging in child-related employment.
Reporting to the Senior Sergeant, Sex Offenders Registry, the Quality Assurance and Compliance Officer maintains and undertakes essential functions on behalf of the Offender Management Division to ensure legislative compliance with the SORA 2004. The role also examines internal processes and functions and those of police across the state, who are responsible for the compliance management of RSOs in the community. The role will also assist to identify and share best practice regarding the management of RSOs through a continuous improvement lens.
Building the capability of Victoria Police's management of RSOs, is a key aspect of this role.
