KSC1 - Demonstrated experience, skills and knowledge in counselling. Current registration to practice as a psychologist in the area of educational or clinical psychology.
KSC2 - Demonstrated ability to implement a range of small group and whole-school mental health prevention and promotion activities aimed at improving student mental health and wellbeing, including the delivery of capacity building and awareness raising activities for staff and students on key mental health and wellbeing issues relevant to the school community.
KSC3 - Demonstrated experience in conducting and analysing wellbeing/educational/behavioural assessments and providing evidence-based recommendations and documentation to support applications under the DIP Inclusions model.
KSC4 - Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead a team and build strong relationships and effectively collaborate with students, school staff, families and allied health professionals. Demonstrated capacity to be flexible and adaptable and work with professional learning teams to develop effective support / intervention strategies for students.
KSC 5 - Proven ability to coordinate appropriate supports for students with complex needs, including timely referrals to specialist and external services, while working collaboratively with staff and families.
KSC6 - Thorough understanding of relevant legislation, including privacy health laws, the Disability Discrimination Act, Child Safe Standards, and The Four Critical Actions and the ability to apply these in maintaining ethical, safe and inclusive practices.

The role provides a proactive focus for the promotion and prevention of mental health and wellbeing through assessment and implementation of context-relevant programs, approaches and initiatives based on a broad and extensive knowledge of the needs of the school.
Will usually consult with the leadership team who is accountable for the development and delivery of key services that are integral to the effective operation of a school/s. Provides a range of services and/or undertakes the analysis of complex problems that form part of the policy framework.
An education support class position supports the educational services being provided to students, but must not include duties of teaching as defined in clause 2.6.1 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic) or its successor. Supervision of students cannot be required except where it is an integral part of the employee's position or involves supervision of students individually or in small groups, in controlled circumstances, where the responsibility for students remains clearly with a teacher, if present.
