About the Role
The Department of Education is looking for a highly skilled practitioner psychologist to contribute to the important work of our Student Support Services (SSS) team in Central Highlands Area in supporting schools to address the barriers to learning that impact on student(s) progress to achieving their educational goals and development potential.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
Required: A graduate or post-graduate qualification in psychology; full Registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioners Registration Agency (AHPRA)
Candidates must possess a current Australian Drivers' Licence and Working with Children Check.

The department provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration. The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.
About the Division
Student Support Services aims to assist children and young people facing a range of barriers to learning to achieve their educational and developmental potential through the provision of a range of strategies and specialised support at individual, group, and school levels. This role is located in the Student Support Services (SSS) Branch, Central Highlands Area, South Western Victoria Region.
The Student Support Services Branch operates from the Ballarat office and includes schools from Trentham to Ararat and Waubra to Willaura, Linton, Bannockburn to Bacchus Marsh. The Student Support Services Practitioners function as a multi-disciplinary health, wellbeing, and inclusion team which comprises psychologists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists and social workers.
