Fountain Gate Primary School is a vibrant school that is proud of its achievements within the community and beyond. Many of its families come from far and wide across the globe.
School Vision:
Fountain Gate Primary School is a community of active, focused learners who share their curiosity, voice and expertise with others.
To watch all the students work and play together is a great joy. Fountain Gate PS has a dedicated staff team with a distributed model of leadership and this has enabled many staff to carry out new initiatives.
Fountain Gate Primary School draws students from its residential area in Narre Warren as well as the Fountain Gate South and Hallam Gardens estates.
The enrolment at the school is currently 530 students. Our school's current analysis of its student population indicates that there are 54% of students from Non English Speaking Backgrounds. We have pupils from over 50 different cultures and are strongly committed to the multicultural diversity of the community we serve.
The school's mission is to provide students with a nurturing, inclusive, stimulating environment that promotes meaningful, developmental learning for life. We envision a school community working together to enable individuals to be self-motivated learners who achieve their personal best so that they become responsible members of society. Our instructional model is based on the Gradual Release of Responsibility and this continues to be refined as our Professional Learning Community embeds best practices across all curriculum areas.
Our current strategic plan focuses on:
In 2026 we will continue to work as a Professional Learning Community with a focus on improving student learning outcomes in reading, numeracy and wellbeing.
Diverse specialist programs are provided from Foundation - Year 6 in Visual Arts, Physical Education, Performing Arts, Auslan and STEM. Students and staff have access to iPad and Apple TV technology.
At Fountain Gate Primary School there is a consistent and positive approach to student behaviour which fosters a school climate where personal responsibility and self-discipline are developed. The link between experience, thinking, feeling and behaving is reflected in the school's formal and informal procedures. Restorative Practice is the main vehicle used to maintain positive relationships.
The school grounds include a wide variety of playground facilities. We have a large oval, a soccer pitch, two basketball courts, and large shaded play areas for both active and passive play. The school takes pride in our grounds and takes great care to ensure gardens and playing spaces are well maintained. The school is fortunate to have an open grassed public area available at the back of the school which is used for supervised events such as cross country and lunchtime sports programs.
Will usually be a member of the leadership team who is accountable for the development and delivery of key services that are integral to the effective operation of a school/s. Provides a range of services and/or undertakes the analysis of complex problems that form part of the policy framework.
A school or group of schools would need to have the necessary diversity and complexity to create a role at range 5. Management of a major school or district initiative, project or Department targeted strategy would be an indicator depending on the breadth of management responsibilities.
An education support class position supports the educational services being provided to students, but must not include duties of teaching as defined in clause 2.6.1 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic) or its successor. Supervision of students cannot be required except where it is an integral part of the employee's position or involves supervision of students individually or in small groups, in controlled circumstances, where the responsibility for students remains clearly with a teacher.
