About the role
The Psychiatric Nurse Consultant - Education (PNC), is responsible for leadership in the planning, provision, delivery and co-ordination of mental health nursing education, training and professional development, to promote a high quality, sustainable workforce.
The PNC-Education will have strong collaborative links with both the Mental Health Service (MHS) and the broader SWH Education team to ensure the provision of high-quality education to the mental health workforce, aligned with South West Healthcare strategic and operational plans.
The PNC-Educator will be responsible for the co-ordination, support and delivery of mental health nursing clinical placements; graduate, transition and post graduate programs; clinical and corporate education; and workforce development initiatives. In addition to this the PNC-Educator will develop collaborative relationships with other relevant training and educational organisations.

The successful applicant will demonstrate a strong commitment to maintaining and developing nursing education and remaining customer focused at all times.
You will have evidence of excellent communication skills, strategic thinking and experience providing clinical supervision, planning and assisting to provide professional development opportunities and supporting student, graduate nurse and post-graduate nursing programs.
In addition, you must be registered as a Registered Nurse in the Register of Nurses of the NMBA and hold a post graduate diploma in psychiatric/mental health nursing or have completed a specialist undergraduate psychiatric nursing program.
