About Us
The Department of Transport and Planning oversees key planning, transport and land use policy decisions and management across the State. A life-cycle approach to planning, building, connecting and sustaining communities means our people can come together to; improve services, deliver sustainable projects, focus on customer engagement, streamline regulatory approval pathways, facilitate community consultation and better realise local economic opportunities for more liveable communities across Victoria.
Housing, Building and Land Delivery drives balanced urban growth by delivering zoned land for housing, jobs and infrastructure in State-led areas, a pipeline of government-owned land for development, and an improved building system.
We’re focused on outcomes that deliver more choice, connections and confidence in our travel, ensuring the whole transport network works as one to deliver better services and outcomes.
About the Role
Fixed Term Opportunity until 30 June 2026
The Train and Tram Zone Activity Centre Program is a key initiative of Plan for Victoria, to deliver more homes close to services, jobs, and transport across Melbourne. 2.24 million new homes are needed across the state by 2051 by 2051. Increasing housing choice in places that are well-located and maximise use of existing infrastructure and transport is a key priority to support the liveability and sustainability of our neighbourhoods and communities. We have introduced new planning controls in the initial 10 Pilot Activity Centres, allowing an additional 60,000 homes to be built. Planning controls for 50 new train and tram zone activity centres are now in development .
The Activity Centres team works across State Government and with local government, industry and the community to implement the Government’s Train and Tram Zone Activity Centres Program. The Project Support Officer role supports the delivery of the program by helping to prepare project documents, reports on project status, contributes to risk and issues management, has experience in the preparation of correspondence and presentations, and establishes and maintains relationships with multiple stakeholders. It requires a motivated individual who can assist the team in project delivery, management while using good administrative and work management skills.
