About this opportunity
The VEC currently has multiple opportunities to join the Health, Safety and Wellbeing team and contribute to the upcoming State Election, which will be held on 28 November 2026.
We are seeking individuals with experience in Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) or within People and Culture, sup ported by a strong foundational understanding of HSW systems, processes and communications.
Our ideal candidates are available to start immediately and are eager to contribute to Victoria's democracy by providing meaningful support and guidance to the thousands of employees recruited to deliver this significant and important event.
Flexibility is required for this role, with additional evening and weekend work (Saturdays) expected during peak election periods to ensure the successful delivery of critical election activities and workforce support.

A day in the life of a Project Support Coordinator, Health, Safety, & Wellbeing
As a Project Support Coordinator, Health, Safety, & Wellbeing, you'll play a key role in coordinating the day-to-day delivery of HSW support services for a large and diverse election workforce. Your day may involve reviewing complex health and wellbeing disclosures, providing guidance to team members on triage and process requirements, monitoring enquiry and incident volumes, and ensuring matters are prioritised and resolved within service standards. Working in a fast-paced election environment, you'll also help drive continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the delivery of responsive, high-quality HSW services.
About you
The successful candidate for this role will be someone who;
Demonstrates experience in Health, Safety and Wellbeing, Injury Management, Human Resources or a related field to assess workplace disclosures, support injury management activities and coordinate workplace adjustments
Leads the effective coordination of work activities, ensuring tasks are allocated, prioritised and delivered within agreed timeframes
Makes in formed decisions, exercises sound judgement and proactively escalates risks to support the health, safety and wellbeing of the workforce
Works collaboratively with others and communicating clearly and professionally with internal stakeholders
Qualification in Business Administration, Human Resources, Health and Safety or a related discipline is desirable
