THE ROLE
The Worker and Carer Exclusion Scheme (WCES) is established under the Social Services Regulation Act 2021 (the Act). The Worker and Carer Exclusion Scheme (the scheme) is designed to address risks posed by individual workers and carers that require additional interventions. Under the scheme, the Social Services Regulator (the SSR) may refer conduct by a worker in scope of the scheme for consideration by a panel for exclusion.
Working as part of the Child Safeguarding Regulation unit, the Project Officer, WCES Database, has overall responsibility for the day-to-day management and administration of the WCES Database under the scheme. The position manages administrative systems, processes excluded checks of the database, prepares reports, and manages the liaison with service providers.
The successful applicant will have a high level of administrative skills and strong communication skills, with experience in IT system management and data analysis.
This position involves the handling of challenging and confronting materials. The Project Officer, WCES Database will support the receipt and review of notifications about incidents that caused serious harm, or had the potential to cause harm, to children and young people. This includes sexual offences and misconduct, physical violence, behaviour that causes significant emotional or psychological harm, and significant neglect.
