About the role:
This role is a Full-time, Fixed-Term role from 1 Novermber 2025 to 30 June 2026
The Project Officer provides coordination and administrative support for multiple teams across the Integrated Data and Analytics unit. This role is based in the Office of the Director, Integrated Data and Analytics, but working closely with the Managers of each team and Project Managers to support strategic alignment and operational consistency across the unit. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth delivery of project milestones, effective stakeholder engagement, and the efficient operation of procurement, planning and reporting processes across the unit.

About you:
The Department of Health is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Officer to support the delivery of key health initiatives that improve outcomes for our community. This role requires strong organisational, communication, and analytical skills, with a focus on achieving results in a dynamic government environment.
As a Project Officer, you will plan, coordinate, and monitor project activities to ensure milestones are met on time and within scope. You will establish and maintain effective systems and procedures to support efficient project delivery, regularly reviewing progress and adapting plans as required. The ability to identify priorities, allocate resources effectively, and manage competing demands is essential.
You will prepare high-quality written materials, including reports, briefings, correspondence, and presentations, ensuring accuracy and clarity in all communications. Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills are vital, as you will liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including other government agencies, to support collaboration and achieve project objectives.
Advanced computer literacy is required, particularly in the use of word processing, spreadsheets, and other software applications to analyse data, prepare documentation, and assist colleagues with technical problem-solving.
The successful candidate will demonstrate sound judgement and the ability to interpret and apply project plans, policies, and procedures, providing informed advice and contributing to effective decision-making. You will also work collaboratively as part of a supportive team environment, showing respect, flexibility, and a commitment to shared goals.
