About the role:
The Project Officer is responsible for providing project and administrative support in the Office of the Chief Psychiatrist. This includes support to other team members delivering projects to improve business practices and implement the recommendations of the Royal Commission into Victoria's Mental Health System. It also includes support with clinical leadership and quality and safety oversight of mental health services, which are statutory functions of the Office of the Chief Psychiatrist under the Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022.
The Project Officer works with colleagues to design, plan, coordinate and deliver projects. They manage multiple priorities and liaise with stakeholders as part of performing these duties. The Project Officer also provides administrative and analytical support through collecting and analysing data, maintaining up to date dashboards and preparing correspondence and documents.
Teamwork is a core part of the role. The Project Officer assists colleagues to navigate systems and processes and contributes to team planning and activities.
The Project Officer needs to be effective at time-management by balancing competing priorities, meeting strict deadlines, adapting to shifting requirements and responding promptly to urgent tasks.
They also need to be effective self-managers by monitoring personal wellbeing and safety, identifying and managing risks, working autonomously and maintaining a constructive approach to organisational change.
