The Project Officer performs a co-ordination role for the Workforce Regulation & Taskforce team. It ensures timely advice from subject matter experts can be used by the team to coordinate the provision of expert policy advice to the Department of Health executive, Secretary and Minister on Victoria's position regarding interjurisdictional workforce matters, health workforce regulatory policy, reform, and the operation of the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law (Victoria) Act 2009 and other regulatory instruments. This includes coordinating responses to the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra), National Boards, the National Health Practitioner Ombudsman and other relevant bodies on workforce regulation policy consultations.

HSRP81/VPS4/Project Officer
The Project Officer provides operational support to the Deputy Secretary, the Principal Adviser and the Office of the Deputy Secretary on divisional and departmental matters and priority projects. The Project Officer is part of a small team working collaboratively across a range of areas including coordination of executive, corporate and ministerial matters; approvals and quality assurance; briefings; communications; reporting and administration.
The role requires a highly organised and methodical individual with strong interpersonal skills, initiative and the ability to work with minimal supervision, to ensure that deadlines are met and a high standard of work is achieved. The role requires strong organisational and workload management skills and the ability to confidently and effectively triage requests as required. This is a varied role that works on all aspects of operational matters to support the Deputy Secretary, Principal Adviser and division, with a particular focus on managing the coordination and flow of requests in and out of the Division, quality assurance and Office and Divisional systems and processes.
