Project Officer
The Role
As Project Officer with Apprenticeships Victoria (AV), you will support initiatives that create more job opportunities for apprentices and trainees entering careers in areas experiencing skills shortages. Reporting to the Priority Apprenticeships Manager, Gippsland, you will support policy implementation and project management, working collaboratively with Victorian Government agencies, major project employers, and the TAFE and training system. You will bring strong communication, problem-solving and project management skills, along with the ability to develop and manage systems that support project monitoring and evaluation.

The position of Project Officer forms part of Apprenticeships Victoria within the Skills and TAFE Group.
Skills and TAFE focuses on enabling Victorians to access the knowledge, skills and attributes they need to participate in today's workforce, prepare for future jobs and achieve their educational aspirations. Working with government, industry and education partners, the Group supports a responsive, high-quality vocational education and training system aligned with industry needs and stronger pathways into employment.
Apprenticeships Victoria works with key partners across government, the Victorian Skills Authority, the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority, and the Office of TAFE Coordination and Delivery to deliver a pipeline of skilled workers for Victoria's priority industries. Its work includes apprenticeships and traineeship policy development, innovative program design, local partnerships, participation and retention initiatives, and engagement to promote apprenticeship and traineeship opportunities and career pathways.
About You
You bring an outcomes-focused approach, understand how your work contributes to broader team and organisational priorities, and collaborate effectively to share information and support colleagues. You can plan and coordinate work in line with strategic objectives, communicate clearly with different audiences, and engage constructively with stakeholders to address issues and improve service delivery. A relevant tertiary qualification is desirable.
