Are you interested in contributing to the development of land management plans for public land in Victoria? If so, this could be the role for you!
The Project Officer Forest and Fire Strategic Planning Frameworks is part of a team supporting best-practice forest and bushfire management in Victoria. In this role, you will work with regional forest and fire management practitioners, and specialist teams in bushfire risk modelling, ecosystem science, and monitoring and evaluation, to integrate new knowledge and evidence into land management planning and decision-making.
The role supports the development of planning frameworks, processes and guidance within DEECA's Bushfire and Forest Services Group, to enable the delivery of strategic plans for Victoria's diverse landscapes. As part of a dynamic and highly collaborative team, you will be involved in planning for a range of forest and bushfire management activities that fall within DEECA's responsibilities, including bushfire prevention, mitigation, and response planning, ecological restoration and biodiversity conservation, recreation, and forest road network management to name a few.
You will contribute to the improvement of planning processes and systems across the full spectrum of policy, planning, delivery and improvement, and contribute to embedding contemporary science, evidence and practice in the work that DEECA delivers.
In this role, you will build relationships and collaborate with teams from across Bushfire and Forest Services Group and DEECA more broadly, Traditional Owner Groups, and other land and fire management partners to support the continual improvement of forest and bushfire management within Victoria.
The Project Officer Forest and Fire Strategic Planning Frameworks is part of the Knowledge, Planning and Risk Branch within Policy, Planning and Knowledge Division.
