The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Project Officer to provide a critical role within Counter Terrorism Coordination team.
About the Business Unit
The Corrections and Justice Services (CJS) group, comprising of Corrections Victoria, Justice Health and Justice Services, plays an integral role in developing safer and more resilient communities and in delivering a trusted justice and community safety system.
Corrections Victoria is responsible for a safe, secure and humane system that provides programs and services that support rehabilitation through addressing the underlying causes of offending behaviour.
Counter Terrorism Coordination (CTC) within Sentence Management Division, is responsible for the operational strategic direction of CVE across Corrections Victoria and Justice Services. CTC ensures that CJS' approach to CVE evolves with current and emerging evidence of good practice in the rehabilitation and reintegration of individuals at risk of committing or who have committed religiously or ideologically motivated violent extremism.
CTC works closely with a range of internal stakeholders including Complex Classification Unit, Corrections Victoria Intelligence Unit, Forensic Intervention Services and Parole Central Unit, as well as external stakeholders including Victoria Police, Attorney General's Department, Australian Federal Police and the Victorian Government Solicitor's Office.
About the Role
The Project Officer works within the Counter Terrorism Coordination team to lead and support various projects to strengthen the Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) Service Delivery Model across Corrections and Justice Services and provide operational support including to the Violent Extremism Identification Panel.
