Project Officer
The Role
The Project Officer supports the design, implementation and delivery of program and project priorities within the Policy Projects team and across the broader Small Business and Employment branch. The role involves program delivery, stakeholder engagement, preparation of briefs, presentations and reports, and other activities that enable the branch to deliver targeted support for Victorian small businesses. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with a can-do attitude, an interest in the small business sector and an understanding of the Victorian operating context, with established program delivery, communication, research and analytical skills to support continuous improvement and innovation in small business programs.

The Team
The position of Project Officer forms part of the Small Business and Employment branch within the Economic Policy, Programs and Services Group.
Economic Policy, Programs and Services supports sustainable economic development and employment growth across Victoria, including programs that enable Victorian small businesses to thrive, support sustainable employment and economic inclusion, and increase economic opportunities for First Peoples. The Group also provides expertise in policy design, research, analysis, project management, delivery and evaluation.
The Small Business and Employment branch fosters economic growth and job creation in Victoria by helping prospective business owners, self-employed Victorians, and small and medium enterprises to thrive in an inclusive, fair and competitive business environment. Under the Business Victoria brand, the branch works with partners to provide knowledge, capability, information, expertise, advisers and tools to help businesses start, grow, employ and internationalise.
About You
You will have demonstrated project delivery skills, including defining tasks, coordinating and guiding others, monitoring progress and taking corrective action when required. You will have a strong customer focus, with the ability to monitor customer satisfaction, identify continuous improvement opportunities and support innovation. You will also be able to resolve issues through a sound understanding and interpretation of existing guidelines, analysing available options and consulting with others where required.
