About the Role
This is a full time fixed term role until 19 September 2027.
The Project Officer will be responsible for preparing project plans, monitoring and reporting on project status, contributing to risk and issue management, establishing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, participating in and facilitating project meetings, preparation of a range of project documents including business cases, contract administration, financial reporting and project governance support for other investment decisions (e.g. contract variations).
The team will help build organisational capability and support the execution of human resources systems, processes, policies and procedures for client groups in alignment with the strategic direction of the department.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience
Tertiary qualifications are desired, as is experience in project management or as a human resources business partner.
About the Department
The department provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration. The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.
About the Division and Branch
The People and Workplace Relations (Schools) Division implements strategic workforce initiatives, provides human resource services and strategic human resource policy advice in areas of school employee relations, payroll, recruitment and provision of HR data to assist in the building of a high-quality and diverse workforce. Recruitment, payroll and reporting support is also provided to external clients.
We are seeking a Project Officer who will support the planning, delivery and governance of a range of projects by providing high-quality project coordination, analysis and reporting. Working closely with the Senior Project Officer and Manager, the role contributes to the development of project plans, monitors progress against agreed milestones, and supports effective risk and issue management to ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.
