THE ROLE
The Project Officer works within a small, high-performing Aboriginal Strategic Governance team. The role will work collaboratively across the department and in partnership with Aboriginal stakeholders to promote and deliver lasting Aboriginal wellbeing outcomes and facilitate self-determination for Aboriginal organisations and communities in all that we do.
You play a key role in the delivery and implementation of Korin Korin Balit-Djak, the department's Aboriginal health, wellbeing and safety strategic plan, and its associated governance and oversight. Your role is to plan, participate in and support key advisory, governance and oversight bodies and associated activities, projects, communications and engagement with community and other key stakeholders.
The Strategic Governance team will support the department and key government partners advance Aboriginal self-determination for the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing.
You will develop and maintain relationships across the department and the division, and with Victorian Aboriginal leaders, to incorporate strong Aboriginal voice and drive self-determination.
