The Project Officer, will play an important role within our Health & Safety area of the business, which focuses on the delivery of care and services offered to supporting injured workers during their recovery journey.
Specifically, the Project Officer, will support the discovery, design, testing, and delivery of initiatives that improve health, recovery, and return-to-work outcomes for injured workers.
- $124,535.00 per annum + 12% superannuation (pro rata for part time)
- Part time, fixed term (0.6 FTE until 26/02/2027 – 45.60 hours per fortnight)
- Wadawurrung/Geelong based role (hybrid work from home – 3 days a week in office)
This opportunity will provide the potential option to work the 0.6FTE across more than 3 days per week. Further discussion can occur upon successful progression of application.
About the opportunity
With a focus on project based work through providing project support, research and stakeholder engagement, this role will make an important contribution in ensuring delivery of programs and pilots within the Return to Work Victoria Business Unit.
You will also enjoy taking ownership, on occasion, of smaller projects and the opportunity to engage with and build relationships with diverse stakeholder groups across WorkSafe as well as working within a supportive and collaborative team culture.
- Using project management approaches, processes and tools to plan, develop, manage the governance, deliver and report on programs of work
- Using stakeholder engagement and partnering approaches to build, broker, connect, convene, develop, negotiate and influence mutually beneficial relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Building and maintaining internal and external relationships enabling the influence of WorkSafe employees and external stakeholders to undertake activities and to achieve appropriate outcomes
- Applying adaptive, iterative and evidence based approaches, including design thinking, human-centred design, systems thinking, behavioural insights and behaviour change to explore complex problems, identify levers for change, deliver appropriate solutions and measure impact
- Undertaking impact assessment(s) of potential legislative change on business processes and operational materials (including IT systems)
- Monitoring progress against project plans and schedules, ensuring the timely escalation of any risks or issue impacting on project scopes, plans, or schedules
About you
You are an experienced Project Officer, whose strengths include your organisational skills along with the ability to be flexible and adaptive to changing scenarios as they arise.
In addition, having training or qualifications with project and / or portfolio management would also be desirable for this position.
- Experience in legislative and regulatory reform and the government sector
- Ability to clearly scope, project manage and identify activities to develop and maintain impact assessments and project plans to schedule and budget
- Demonstrated experience in project management and support to successfully deliver complex projects and to support the implementation of changes emanating from project activities
- Proven ability to directly influence others outside of line management structures using excellent interpersonal and strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Experience in working with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds, including diverse views and perspectives to develop new approaches to delivering outcomes
